Sinorock assisted the site testing of the pile foundation bearing capacity of the core construction project of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) project

Guangzhou Municipal Engineering Inspection Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Municipal Inspection Company") undertaken by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) project phase I core construction project pile foundation bearing capacity on-site inspection service is basically completed. In the inspection cycle of about half a year, the municipal inspection company conducted inspections and judgments in accordance with the "Construction Engineering Quality Inspection Management Measures" and related industry standards and specifications, and highly coordinated the project implementation progress and actual construction requirements, and completed the Hong Kong on schedule with high quality. On-site inspection service for the pile foundation bearing capacity of the core construction project of the University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) project.

Background
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) is a major and landmark project for Guangzhou to implement the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Plan Outline". The University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) Agreement is a Mainland-Hong Kong cooperative educational institution with independent legal personality. It is the first Mainland-Hong Kong cooperative educational institution with legal personality approved since the release of the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Plan Outline".
The project officially started in September 2019 and is scheduled to be fully completed in March 2022. The municipal inspection company began to undertake and enter the site to initiate related inspection tasks in October 2020. To complete the on-site inspection of the pile foundation bearing capacity of the entire Phase I project during the construction period, facing urgent problems such as heavy inspection tasks, tight schedules, and multi-party coordination and cooperation with construction authorities, owners, supervision units, and construction units:
First, the major work standards of the project are strict. As a key construction project of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Comprehensive Cooperation Demonstration Zone in our city, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) project represents to a certain extent the good development trend of cooperation between the Mainland and Hong Kong in education and research, and is a benchmark for the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in our city. Municipal inspection companies are bound to pay more attention to completing inspection tasks efficiently and with high quality, and maintain good communication and cooperation relationships with owners, supervisors and administrative authorities. The inspection service will cooperate with the project schedule requirements, and put forward higher requirements for the specific work of the municipal inspection company.

Second, the construction period is tight and the completion pressure is high. The municipal inspection company needs to complete the related inspection tasks of the first phase of the project in March 2021. The inspection service cycle is less than half a year, and the interim 2021 Spring Festival holiday. Related work such as vehicle deployment poses certain challenges.

Progress
In order to promote the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the municipal inspection company has always adhered to the quality policy of "scientific, efficient, independent, and standardized", taking a multi-pronged approach to complete the pile foundation bearing capacity of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) project on schedule.
The company's inspection team has increased its manpower, purchased 2 new sets of static load equipment, and ensured vehicle deployment, and adopted "5+2" and "white + black" coordination and office work to ensure the completion of inspection tasks.
The inspection project was undertaken by the company’s Underground Engineering Research Institute and led by Dr. Shao Jixi. Graduate students Zhang Yansen, Guo Ducheng, engineer Luo Zhibin and other high-tech talents formed an engineering commando team. They often went on-site inspection during the day and worked overtime at night to write reports. In the middle of the night, all-weather report approval support was provided, and various tasks were successfully completed in strict accordance with the prescribed reporting time limit.

At present, the on-site inspection task of the foundation pile bearing capacity of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) project has been basically completed, and the inspection capability and service level have been highly recognized by the construction unit, the owner, the construction authority and other relevant units. The successful implementation and successful completion of the project's inspection task also stems from the municipal inspection team's invaluable work experience, such as adequate preparation for the preliminary work, careful planning of the inspection process, tacit cooperation between team members, and smooth communication and coordination between all parties.
